During this period, the Lunar New Year Festival collaborates with the top ten Lunar New Year shopping districts to launch festive decorations and marketing activities. "Dragon's Here with Good Luck!" - Dragons are appearing everywhere, and you can find good luck with dragons

In 2024, the Lunar New Year Festival features unique dragon-themed decorations, including four giant dragon balloons on Dihua North and South Streets, a Treasure Dragon at the intersection of Huayin Street, and a Flying Dragon Lantern display in the Yuanlin Shopping District. Particularly eye-catching is the "Good Luck Dragon" in the Yongle Market! Furthermore, the Taipei Lunar New Year Festival collaborates with local communities, Yongle Elementary School, and Taiping Elementary School, inviting residents, shop owners, students, and visitors to paint lanterns together. This creates a sense of togetherness and a feeling of reunion during the year-end, decorating Yongle Square as the "co-created Lunar New Year lantern area," becoming the most atmospheric spot for taking photos and making memories during the Lunar New Year Festival.

Embrace the auspiciousness in Taipei City with the "Fortune Dragon Arrives" spring couplets, extending heartfelt wishes for "good luck to come" to all.

Celebrate the upcoming Year of the Dragon with the "Fortune Dragon Arrives" spring couplets in Taipei City! These special couplets carry the heartfelt wish of "good luck to come" for everyone. To enhance the festive spirit of the Lunar New Year and cater to the citizens' customs, the city government offers these couplets free of charge.

Starting from January 22, 2024, you can easily claim your couplets during weekdays at the Information and Assistance Division on the first floor of the City Hall North District and at the 12 district offices and village offices throughout Taipei City. Remember to grab them while supplies last!

The Taiwanese phrase "福運龍來" when pronounced in Taiwanese sounds similar to "好運都來" in Mandarin. This translates to "Good fortune arrives" in English. The "Fortune Dragon Arrives" couplets are visually appealing and hold deep meaning. The design combines the concepts of grandeur, righteousness, and blessings, resonating through beautiful calligraphy and an overall aesthetic composition. As you hang these couplets, may they spread the grandness and righteousness of the Year of the Dragon while bringing abundant blessings to all. The background pattern includes the distinctive dragon scales, signifying the Year of the Dragon, and the joyful imagery of lanterns adorning households during the festive season.

For those who prefer a digital version, the city government has also made the electronic files of the "Fortune Dragon Arrives" spring couplets available. Visit the official website of the Taipei City Government Secretariat to download and enjoy them!

"Dragon Good Luck Red Envelopes" - Welcoming Prosperity and Good Fortune with Dragons!

The "Dragon Good Luck Red Envelopes" feature dragon-shaped designs and incorporate clever elements like opening doors to welcome wealth. They are decorative items and symbols of good fortune, inviting everyone to attract wealth and blessings. People who wish to obtain these red envelopes of good fortune can participate in various activities during the Lunar New Year Festival, such as the "Dragon's Here Red Envelope Grabbing event" on Yongle Square, the Mayor's street visits during the Lunar New Year, and the official "I'm a Businessman" fan club activities organized by the Taipei City Office of Commerce.

This year, a special "Dragon's Here Red Envelope Grabbing event" claw machine activity is set up on Yongle Square. Visitors who take photos and share them on social media or make purchases in the Dihua Street Shopping District on the same day may have the chance to win prizes such as IRIS OHYAMA smart electronic pressure cookers, Shopee vouchers, or limited "Dragon Good Luck Red Envelopes." The total value of prizes exceeds 1.5 million dollars, inviting everyone to come and "grab" some good fortune!

Collaboration with Shopee and Uber Eats to Create an Online Taipei Lunar New Year Festival, Making Lunar New Year Shopping Effortless.

To continue supporting commercial districts in integrating online and offline resources and promoting new business models, the Taipei Lunar New Year Festival is again partnering with Shopee to create the "Online Taipei Lunar New Year Festival." Over a hundred featured shops from various Lunar New Year shopping districts in Taipei City will be showcased on Shopee. Additionally, offline activities will be held on Yongle Square, featuring Shopee live broadcasts with offers starting at a minimum of 20% off. This initiative aims to simplify Lunar New Year shopping for online and offline shoppers.

Furthermore, the festival is collaborating with the food delivery platform Uber Eats for the first time. They have launched "Premium Lunar New Year Goods" on the app, partnering with popular shops from the Lunar New Year shopping districts, including LienTungherb, Huang Chang Sheng, Dachun soap, the Carp, and more. The zone features over 300 products, with more than 30 items offering attractive discounts, such as 25% off nut gift boxes and 15% off on imported mushroom gift sets. This allows shoppers to receive premium Lunar New Year goods for gifting or personal use without leaving their homes.

Collaboration with Hi-Life and Regent Hotels to Expand the Promotion of the Abundant Lunar New Year Atmosphere

This year, the Taipei Lunar New Year Festival has partnered with Hi-Life convenience stores, which originated from Dihua Street, to release exclusive co-branded coffee cups available for purchase at nearly 1,600 Hi-Life stores across Taiwan during the festival period. This initiative aims to provide people a diverse and festive atmosphere while visiting the Lunar New Year Festival. Additionally, the festival has collaborated with Regent Hotels to offer festive welcome gifts and bilingual tour information, enhancing the experience for international tourists and introducing them to the unique cultural aspects of the Taipei Lunar New Year Festival.

To ensure consumer confidence in their purchases, during the Lunar New Year Festival, a joint inspection team composed of officials from various departments, including the Consumer Ombudsmen from the Department of Legal Affairs, Taipei City Office of Commerce, Market Administration Office, Department of Health, Department of Environmental Protection, Fire Department, Police Department, and Datong District Office, will conduct inspections and guide food safety, environmental cleanliness, fire safety, and product labeling in the Dihua Street Lunar New Year shopping area. If consumers have any disputes related to their purchases, they can call the consumer service hotline at "1950" or "1999," extension 7812. The Department of Legal Affairs will provide consumer consultation and assistance to protect consumer rights.

1. Lucky Money Design Explanation:

This year's lucky money is designed with the concept of a "dragon" moving through lively scenes of the Chinese New Year, which means "one-stop service" in Mandarin Chinese. The design incorporates various festive scenarios, such as shopping for New Year's goods, family gatherings for dinner, the spirit of cleaning and welcoming the New Year, and other elements related to the Lunar New Year and the unique characteristics of the shopping district. The one-dollar lucky money is placed where the dragon holds a dragon ball, symbolizing the delivery of good luck to you.

Additionally, the lucky money serves as a decorative item. It can be placed on your office desk or in your home's living room by attaching it to a belt buckle, becoming a symbol of good fortune, absorbing plenty of luck, and bringing you a year of dragon-like good luck!
