Qingguang Market formed in 1940s, when Military Assistance Advisory Group garrisoned Taiwan. This became the entertaining area for American soldiers. After they left, Qingguang Market was less popular, gradually transforming into a tourist night market. There was a fire breaking out in 1997. Shopping street and food court are formed after reconstruction. It’s now a midscale popular place for Taiwanese traditional goodies.
