Jianguo Jade Market moved under the Jianguo Expressway between Jinan Road and Ren'ai Road in February of 1989. The market opens on weekends. Antiquaries targeting high-end buyers see the charms of the jade market, so they set camp along Jianguo South Road. The antique street of Jianguo South Road is made of Land 279, Lane 291, and Lane 307 of Jianguo South Road.

There were stores selling lumber, hardware, and cement in the early days. Not many furniture stores were here. Some of the furniture stores then even did handmade sofas on-site. After unlawful constructions being tore down around Daan Park, nearby furniture stores moved here forming the so-called “the street of furniture”, with over one hundred of them now.
